Solitary for most of the year, Leopard Seals find each other through song. Males sing for months, while females sing only when they are ready to mate. They sing a duet, which allows the female to choose the perfect partner.
Sponsored by the NSW Department of Education and Training, the Taronga Zoomobile has been specifically designed for schools that have difficulty coming to the Zoo. During a visit, the student audience will be able to meet, learn about and interact with native animals, encouraging them to take positive action in the conservation of our native wildlife.
The Zoomobile travels with a collection of Australian native animals and each program is delivered by one of our qualified and experienced educators. Your students' curiosity about the natural world will be made alive as they come nose to nose with some of our country's stunning wildlife, including a snake, possum, frog, echidna, lizard, young crocodile, cockatoo and Tawny Frogmouth.
With programs available to suit Kindergarten through to Year 12, all students will benefit from a visit by the Zoomobile. Lessons will be delivered at the students' development level and programs can be tailored to all key learning areas.
Click here for more information on our Animals of the Dreaming program where students hear stories and songs from the Dreaming as they encounter the animals up close.
$3.30 per student for the regular Zoomobile program
$5.00 per student for the Animals of the Dreaming program
The audience size and number of sessions can be tailored to each school's requirements.
