Watch them in the water and the otters appear to be encased in a silver sheen. This is in fact a film of air bubbles that clings to the longer outer hairs covering their bodies.

Please support our Asian Elephant Conservation Breeding Program.
In the last 75 years the wild population of the Asian Elephant has dramatically fallen by 70% to as low as 35,000. Now classified as endangered, the Asian Elephant faces an uncertain future with loss of habitat and poaching major threats to its survival.
Taronga has joined forces with zoos across Australia in a conservation breeding program for Asian Elephants. The birth of Luk Chai, the first Asian Elephant born in Australia, marks a great success for Taronga’s breeding program. We need to continue this important program to raise awareness and help ensure the species’ survival.
Please help support us in this long-term project and move closer to our goal of helping safeguard these intelligent and incredible animals. Whatever you can give, however small, will help.
You can help by donating whatever you can afford. All monies will go towards the Asian Elephant Conservation Breeding Program at Taronga.
Your donation could help save a species.
Whatever you can give is 100% tax deductible for Australian residents.
Plus for every $1 you give us the NSW Government will donate $3.
Please give generously and help support our Asian Elephant Conservation Breeding Program.
